He was was mentored by a family of southern, porch-bluesmen & taught a guitar barre chord technique by the legendary Jimmy Reed. Michael Powers toured and recorded on AdLibs hit 'THE BOY FROM NEW YORK CITY'. He was part of New York's most famous cult clubs: Great Gildersleeves, Manny's Car Wash, Maxx' Kansas City, The Ritz, CBGB and now Terra Blues. In 1983 he recorded 1 song for Spivey Records as 'Murch'. Multi-genre'd POWERS is influenced by the Muddy Waters era, the British Blues invasion, Woodstock, The WHO, specifically Jimi Hendrix.
