About the Author

A scholar of ancient history, literature, and art, she has always had a passion for writing. Over time, she cultivated it, but kept it jealously hidden in a drawer; it was a dream. The arrival of her children prompted her to create numerous stories to spark their curiosity and encourage them to never give up on their dreams. So she reopened that secret drawer, and what had been a spark turned into a living, pulsating flame. Now she devotes herself entirely to her work as a writer, creating stories for children and adults. - Luigi Aimè is an illustrator and concept artist with an international educational and professional background, whose work spans publishing, animation, video games, film, and narrative illustration. After attending the Novalia School of Art concurrently with his classical high school studies, he graduated with honors in Illustration and Animation from the European Institute of Design in Milan and continued his training at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, where he solidified an approach that merges advanced technique and pictorial sensibility. Since 2010, he has collaborated with some of the most important international companies --The Walt Disney Company, Lucasfilm, Marvel Entertainment, Oxford University Press, De Agostini Publishing, Mondadori-- working for the Italian, English, and American markets. His collaboration with Disney began in 2014 and has become a fundamental part of his career: he contributes original illustrations to editorial products for the Star Wars, Pixar, and Disney Animation franchises, including The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Turning Red, and Strange World. He has also created illustrations for Disney''s official series "Resistance Heroes" and "First Order Villains." In recent years, he has expanded his scope of work to include video games, 3D modeling, and illustrations for the Disney Lorcana collectible card game, creating artwork for the Ursula's Return, Into the Inklands, and Shimmering Skies expansions. In this context, he has illustrated cards such as Donald Duck - Focused Flatfoot, RLS Legacy's Cannon, Mickey Mouse - Trumpeter, and several "Quest Cards," demonstrating a versatility that transcends languages, mediums, and imagination. Aimè's style is pictorial and evocative, capable of fusing the use of digital media with a traditional aesthetic. Drawing remains the core of his visual language, energized by compositions that combine narrative rhythm and emotional impact. "Telling stories through images," he says, "does not mean explaining, but suggesting: letting the atmosphere and details speak for themselves." At Novalia, he teaches digital art classes, with an approach that values both stylistic exploration and the ability to work in teams and multidisciplinary contexts. For him, the workshop environment is a space for continuous experimentation and exchange, where he invites young artists to cultivate a broad vision, open to dialogue between mediums, and to build their own credible and personal expressive language. His experience in the world of production--marked by editorial deadlines, complex briefings, and professional revisions--translates into concrete yet always motivating teaching. The relationship with students is based on active listening and a practice that combines visual curiosity with narrative responsibility: "Every image is a choice. And every choice communicates something." Through his work and teaching, Luigi Aimè contributes to the training of a new generation of digital artists capable of facing the challenges of contemporary visual communication with awareness, curiosity, and creative freedom.
