Best Indie album you'll ever hear
To just say that this is a "good" album would be an understatment. I would go so far as saying this is one of the best pieces of media that I have ever consumed. The lyrical and sonical treasure that "flipturn" created on this, their sophomore album, is second to none. From start to finish, you will be plesantly enjoying every note and every track. From standout tracks like "Sad Disco" (My personal favourite), "Brooklyn Baby", "Hollow", and "Space Cowboy", to the even deeper cuts like "Halfway", "Burn", and "Weepy Woman", you will be fully immersed in their lyrics and unique soundscape that they cultivate quite beautifully and effortlessly; a common trait that they have throughout their discography. To describe the sound of this album, is quite a challenging feat. It's like the songs make you daydream realities of which are not yours, or timelines of what could've been. The sonic composition of each song is truly genius, and each song wouldn't be what it is without the members. Each song feels so cohesive musically, that, truly, if someone was missing, you would notice. Introduced to "flipturn" by a close friend (you know who you are, thank you so much), I can safely say that this is one of, if not my favourite bands of all-time. If you ever make a CD or Vinyl Purchase (Vinyl is available on their site), this is definitely on you should invest your hard-earned money on. I personally have the Burnout Days Vinyl and am scouring my local record stores for the Navy Variant of this album, and let me tell you, if you have the budget for purchasing a vinyl from their site, please do so. They master it specifically for that format and it sounds phenomenal, not to mention, they offer a free album download which I think is so awesome. All in all (haha, "sad disco" reference), I would highly recommend this album and band to anybody looking for a new, uniquely nostalgic sound. Proud flipturn fan for life! <3
