    Won't disappoint

    I was worried about buying this as there were some reviews about bass below par but dont listen to those unless you want thumping bass like in car audio contest this has more than enought. Connectivity, you dont need to pair it basically pairs itself out of the box. Volume i cant use it past volume 20 its loud. Clarity i always missing words due to background noise so I watch shows with CC on just incase this system gives you you deep base while not losing the midrange and high tones from actors voice I love it. I am pleastly surprised it went beyond my expectations. Other family members are saying they're buying a new surround after hearing this system. Well done LG

    Sound turns off intermittently

    Sound turns off 5-60 minutes into use almost every time. Have had it "repaired" by LG technicians with no change in the problem.

    Fantastic System, Easy to Use, Effective Warranty

    Our 280TR is paired with an 55" LG OLED TV, and I think this upper-mid tier is the sweet spot. The system is far louder than we'd ever need. The ability to combine the soundbar and satellites with the TV's speakers makes for a fantastic sound stage. The system is clear, immersive, and easy to tweak and calibrate with the ThinQ app, and the big sub gives the family couch just the right rumble. You could step up to the 7.1 S90TR and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. But this Dolby Atmos 5.1 system beats the pants off of most movie theaters. It truly elevates our living room TV to a serious home theater, and for parties, phone connectivity is simple, and it's more than enough to fill the first floor of our home with music. We did have one fault with a satellite which isn't ideal, but it happens, and LG made it right. I highly recommend not just the S89TR, but the whole upper-mid LG ecosystem.

    Lots of issues

    Power cord was missing for the subwoofer. The subwoofer cuts in and out randomly and the rear speakers don’t work when listening to Spotify. Save your money and go with a different brand

    Third time is a charm

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the S55TR because it said it was wireless soundbar and woofer was wireless rear speakers are not wireless so I returned it . So I bought the S70TY it’s wireless but I didn’t like the sound and it doesn’t come with rear speakers you would have to purchase them. So I returned it. Which brings me to S80 TR this unit is totally wireless. It fits my price range and loving it. I’m definitely going to mount the soundbar to wall. Definitely would recommend

    Poor Bass/Low End Performance

    I purchased this soundbar setup in late 2024. It seems like it would be great, and the hardware is capable; however, LG has crippled this system with poor bass and low-end performance from the subwoofer. When you perform the AI Room Calibration, you can hear the full power of the subwoofer; however, that is the ONLY time you will hear any kind of decent sound from the subwoofer. I have since replaced the S80TR with another product with proper bass and low-end performance from the subwoofer of that system. I did reach out to LG in an attempt to try and salvage my ownership of the S80TR; however, there was no help or real interest in assisting me by anyone at LG. The most I received was a canned email that indicated they did not even understand or pay attention to what I was attempting to bring to their attention, and it was sent from a donotreply@lg email address, which meant I couldn't even respond. Unfortunately, this sealed the deal on the S80TR being replaced by another product that performs properly. The LG S80TR could easily be a really good audio system with the simple firmware/programming fixes to the bass and low end performance in the subwoofer, and or the LG ThinQ App being updated to give users more manual control over the sound performance.

    Good but lacks instructions

    Just got my S80 setup and everything is ok but there are no instructions on if you can adjust speakers individuallor not. LG lacks instructions and it hooks to their LGthinQ app and nothing works. LG support is crap.

    Poor Documentation

    So so so frustrated! The tiny holes on the back/bottom of the surround speakers are _WAY_ too small for any of the 'universal' speaker stand mounts/screws and NO WHERE does it say in the manual which screws are used. The internet/Best Buy reviews say that an M4 screw is correct but that is WAY too big. Which screws/stands actually screw into these speakers so I can buy a stand for them?

    Great pairing with my LED LG 86UQ7590 120Hz TV

    For this price range this 5.1.3 soundbar is awesome. It has two sound modes in a soundbar that does not break the bank. I love the DTS:X and DOLBY ATMOS. The WOW CAST and WOW ORCHESTRA amazing. The AI Pro room calibration is neat. The bass is just right for me in 10x10 to 15x15 room.

    Theater Like Experience!

The main soundbar has a nice modern design, but the wire was short in my opinion. I had to shift the soundbar slightly to reach the outlet so it looks slightly misaligned with my TV but I could use an extension cord to fix that issue. You can feel the bass while watching movies or playing video games. The subwoofer is big but it fits well in the room so it’s not noticeable. The Bluetooth capability allowed us to connect our phone to the speakers to play music from our phone. Setting up the TV was very easy as well! The sleek design fit seamlessly into our living room, and the wireless setup was hassle-free. The first movie we watched blew us away. Dolby Atmos technology created a 3D soundscape, making us feel like we were in the middle of the action. The rear speakers added depth, and the sound quality was exceptional, whether we were watching movies, sports, or listening to music.
