OXO 2 Cup Fat Separator

Love this product. Great fat strainer. I love to make completely home made soups by pressure cooking my bones. Works great to separate the fat from the bone broth. I would love to see OXO come out with a glass option as well as including a cleaning brush for the neck. However, very happy with my product. Still going strong after 3 years of moderate use. Has not warped in the dishwasher either.

My husband uses one of these a lot when he cooks with meat! We have tried to separate fat without this tool and this O XO fat separator is so helpful and so handy! I highly recommend getting one, especially if you ever see one on sale!

I love using this during holiday meals. It makes it so easy to use the broth from the turkey to make a gravy. It takes any pieces out of the broth as you pour it in. Then after a few minutes you can easily put the good broth into your pan and leave the fat out. Love this tool.

The product works as advertised. I like that I am able to filter out the ingredients I don’t want from the broth that I do. Cleaning is so easy. I love that it’s dishwasher safe and microwave safe

Don't know why I never bought one before. Game Changer!

I just hope it will not craze and crack with use. Time will tell.

The product works well, but the plastic can't handle hot stock from the stove, a little under boiling temp. Mine developed small cracks which leak. Bummed.

I cook a lot of casseroles and stews and I cannot live without my fat separator. Oxo customer service is outstanding. I have most of the Oxo range in my kitchen

I like that there’s a “holder” for the stopper in the basket. Works well for me.

I also used it just as a regular measuring cup. The stopper is great if you need to make sure something doesn't spill. I will be using this for a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I tried our hand at homemade Caribbean Oxtails. After stewing everything down for hours a tremendous amount of oil came off the meat. It took a few pours (We made a lot of Oxtails) but we strained all the oil out and were left with a delicious, thick, rich gravy. My husband was also able to utilize the strained oil for "seasoning" our cast iron cookware.

All the bigger more solid stuff stayed in the top, and then the fat and the broth separated in the cup with the fat on top. when I went to pour it the broth came out first, and I was able to keep the fat in the cup. I got all the flavor I wanted. It is very easy to use. It's easy to clean. I will use this cup every time I am making a sauce or a gravy, and I want to keep the fat out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The OXO Good Grips 4 Cup Fat Separator is a BIG help in the kitchen! I used it on Thanksgiving and I really appreciated not only having it, but all the work that went into designing it. You install the spout stopper and pour the drippings through the strainer. The strainer catches the solid pieces that you don’t really want in your gravy and the spout stopper keeps the liquid from going into the spout until you’re ready for it. Let the drippings sit and the fat will rise to the top. Once it separates, take the stopper out of the spout and pour the liquid that you want to keep into your pot or container. Pour until the fat gets close to going into the spout and discard what’s left. With the built in lip, it keeps the solids left in the strainer from falling out while pouring.
