Speedy yet Sizeable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was needing a new SSD for my PS5 as files Video Game Files are getting bigger and bigger and the stock 825GB in the PS5 is not sufficient enough with the ever growing library of games (especially now that a lot of games are going digital vs. DVD). Having this 2TB drive allows us to keep games on the drive vs. having to have delete and download games constantly. With more free space on the drive we don't have to manage what to keep and what to remove

True speed!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I don't know if I was behind in the technology in read and write speeds of SSDs, but this thing is crazy fast! I put my operating system on it and my boot time is crazy! Programs seem to be running smoother and transferring files *chef's kiss*. I ran a few speed tests, and I think I may need to upgrade my motherboard for this. Everything seems to be working perfectly though. I would for sure recommend this to anyone looking to up their gaming experience or just for someone who is looking for something reliable with speeds and space.

Room to grow
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this as an external backup drive for moving pictures, videos and data. The speed of this Samsung 990 is somewhat comparable to my Samsung 990Pro that’s inside my computer. As at 2TB drive I will have plenty of storage for all the critical files I have. I really like the plug and play of the NVMe style of drive for the computer AND as a backup drive it’s a small form factor as well, making it idea for portable application. It’s perfect for large video game transfers but recommend having it heatsinked or in a compatible heatsinked external drive as it gets warm on huge transfers. I did notice not as warm as the 990 pro version as they did some magic to get more performance at less power, therefore less heat. I would also recommend Samsung Magician software to monitor drive performance, provisioning and health. Great drive can’t do any better.

Samsung 990 MVMe M.2 SSD
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Samsung 990 NVMe M.2 SSD MZ-V9V1T0B/AM at a discount and was upgraded to the 2TB version! Yay me! It was perfect timing as I needed a new SSD since my 4 year old 512 GB SSD was getting full, plus more speed is always good. The process to install the SSD was very simple, I just removed the screw holding on to the SSD and replace it with the new one and then placed the screw back. The difference between the Samsung 990 vs the old one is night and day. The computer boots up so much faster and games as well as applications open way faster. Another benefit of this SSD is that file transfer is a lot faster than the previous SSD. I’m very happy with this purchase and the SSD seems very reliable so far.

Tried and True
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Today I am very exited to have the opportunity to review the new Samsung 990 SSD. I am a long time PC builder, and gamer, and Samsung has been my go-to for SSDs for some time now. I have been in the market for a 2nd fast drive for my PC so I was very excited to get to try this new Samsung SSD. My current PC is running on the latest AMD chipset so having another NVMe drive is awesome. In the past I have always found Samsung drives to be very reliable. As soon as my new drive arrived I installed it in the next open slot under my graphics card. I am using the motherboards included heatsink and I am happy to report that the drive is running perfectly and maintaining great temperatures. For the review I installed some of my newer games on this secondary drive and I also set it up as a spot for some of my older photos that I had on an external drive. My main system (OS) drive is also a Samsung NVMe drive and in testing this new 990 drive is faster. Using 3DMark software this 990 drive is putting up great numbers and I am impressed by the bandwidth. I think this 990 series is great for gaming and daily use. There are a lot of other players in the NVMe drive space but for me I am sticking with and recommending what I have found to be tried and true; Samsung. I have never had to RMA a Samsung drive and I can't say the same about other brands. I am thrilled to have this running as my secondary drive and if I didn't have to perform a clean OS installation I would make this my main system drive without hesitation!
