Q: How do you separate the shelves that were packaged one inside of the other. They are stuck together and I cannot get them apart.

  • A: Mine were really hard to separate also. I took the handle of a hammer and struck the corners and the middle a few times rotating the shelves until they started to loosen up. Believe me I wanted to throw them at a wall since I finally came up with this solution 40 minutes in.

  • A: Try to pull out all the plastic that's between them as you can, even if you feel like you're stretching and shredding the plastic. That loosened it up for me.

Q: what type and size screws were used for this cart?

  • A: 1/4-20 x 1/2 screws. We could not find the exact screw but any flat or Phillips head will work as long as the head is wide. Make sure there’s no nut underneath the screw head or it will not fit, the screw is not very long but needs every part of that 1/2” to fit through the metal shelf and handle.

  • A: The screws have a flat tip (instead of pointed) and are only half of an inch long. The diameter of twisty part is .5 centimeters. Diamter of the top of the screw is 1.5 centimeters.

  • A: These are joint connector bolts, or flat head socket cap screws would work (same thing but with no beveled edges). The measurements are : 1/8 in. diameter, 16 TPI, 1/2 in. length

  • A: I got an M8 thread caster for a cart that appears identical, and ALTHOUGH IT CAN BE MADE TO FIT, it's obviously cross threaded. English 5/16" (0.3125") is 7.9375mm. diff thread. YMMV

Q: Over time, How does this hold up in year-round very humid conditions ? Looking close up-any deterioration ?

  • A: Powder coated finish on these carts is really well done. In 5 yrs haven't had any isssues2 large,1 this smaller size, are inside a bathroom, in the closet, next to a walk in shower. It's humid from showers and it's also in N Texas, extra humidty 350 days year. It's not inside greenhouse humid, but I think it would hold up.

    A MUST HAVE

    I bought two of these sturdy utility carts. One round and one oblong, both in black. Easy to assemble and easy to move because they have casters. I use them in my kitchen and bedroom for extra storage. They offer a multiple of uses anywhere. I had mine delivered because they’re heavy. I highly recommend.

    This cart is a hunk of junk. Once I finally pried the trays apart I couldn't get them screwed in because the sides weren't close enough together for the length of the screws. I'm stuck with it because I'm outside the return window. Don't buy this.

    Missing Piece

    My box was missing a part (piece A which is one of the top handles) I chose the option of replacement part instead of returning to store and it has honestly been a headache to deal with - hopefully continued emailing will resolve and I can put together/use.

    The mechanism that locks the legs together was faulty but I wasn’t aware of it until it was mostly assembled. The leg simply won’t stay connected because the spring is broken. The effort to deconstruct the product and return it wasn’t worth it. Some black duct tape made it usable but I expected better quality.

    Very cute, but for small, light items only

    The color of the blue cart is very nice, and the baskets are a decent size. But it is definitely a low-price flat-pack item; I have put together a ton of flat-pack items over the years, and this was one of the more frustrating ones--especially as the snap-in on one of the bars (the little piece on one part that is meant to click into a hole in another) broke instantly, the metal piece slipping out and down the tube, wedging itself halfway so I couldn't grab it and put it back where it belonged. (It happened again on the same piece for the other side, but it didn't go down as far, so I was able to get that one back up and in place so it attached to the other part properly.) Thankfully I was able to stabilize the part on one side without that missing snap-in attached. The bottom of the cart is also not horribly wide, so I wouldn't recommend placing items in it that could easily tip or unbalance it. Since it's together and I got it on sale, I'm keeping it, and for now it will work to keep some light items off the counter.
