    Sleep tracking is subpar

We bought with the intent of tracking our daughter’s sleep quality and were thoroughly disappointed. Same night sleep on the same person showed 6h 5m sleep in Fitbit (accurate) and 7h 41m sleep in Garmin (highly inaccurate)…

    Garmin Vivofit Jr. 3

The screen light times out too quickly and is not bright enough. The watch is hard to read for my child. The quality of the screen is low for the price, or an AMOLED option would be nice. The functionality is good for controlling screen time (i.e., basic watch, activity, and chore option and less games and distractions). In other words, my kid is building healthy habits and having fun and that should be emphasized on future versions. Customization of the band or backgrounds via the physical or software would be ideal. My kid loves changing backgrounds and checking their progress. Coins are sufficient reward for them to do chores and that feature should be enhanced. A pace metric would be helpful on screen. My 7 yr old understands pace and when we ran a 5k together I had to use our race time to estimate for her. The activity journey and games are boring and short. 60 min of activity rewards a simple game that only lasts 5 min or so. While I am trying to limit my child's screen time, she should have more autonomy, fun, and feedback on her healthy habits. Que, routine, reward.

    Don't buy

Not suitable for kids who play! The design is so poor, that the tracker/watch can fall out of the band when playing.. So don't buy if you want your kid to be active!

    Disappointment x3

Attempted to purchase a Garmin VivoFit Jr for my daughter 3 separate times, two VivoFit Jr 2 and one VivoFit Jr 3. Each time the Unlock Code was not included in the box so I could not register any of them, rendering them useless. Contacted Garmin Support “Sorry, there’s nothing we can do for you, recommend returning the watch and ordering another one.” I did that 3 times, same result. Our family owns 4 Garmin watches already, which makes it’s even harder to explain to an 8 yr old why her watch won’t work like her older sisters. I expected more from Garmin.

    Expected Garmin Quality

I bought this for my 6yr old daughter and it is very nicely made. It is in line with the quality you expect from Garmin. The only thing this watch is lacking is the user interface. The one button design needs improvement. The available data is far less than the data available from other brands of kid fitness watches. The “feature” to reach an activity goal is rewarded with a “coin” which allows the user to move a spot on the app game board is gimmicky. I recommend this for the quality you expect from Garmin but the user experience is really lacking.

    Good Activity Tracker!

I just bought another one to replace the one my daughter used for a year that finally failed me. She loves the watch and wears it every day she loves to brag on her active minutes and steps. In my opinion a year of use was good for the price.

    Terrible!

This watch was terrible - and expensive! It was super dark. The pro of not needing to charge it was not worth the trade off. We went with he Fitbit Ace 3 and it's SO much better.

    Super Dim Display

These watches have super dim displays. I bought 2 watches from different stores and both had extremely poorly back lit displays. I expected much more from Garmin. Watch only has 1 button so features are clunky.
