Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

Cute and well made, but size up!

Cute and material is good quality, but size up!!! My daughter is 11 but tiny. She usually wears an 8 in target shorts, skirts, etc so we bought a size 10 based on the size chart, but we can barely zip it up and it is pretty short. Returning for a 12 instead.

so cute but sizing is wild

sooo super cute and seems well made, but sizing is wild. I got this for my daughter, who is 6/almost 7, and we got it in the 9 and it was a tight fit. after wearing it around the house for about 10 minutes she said she couldnt do anything in it and asked me to exchange it for a size up. normally she would wear a size small in cat & jack sizes. I would also recommend treating it as an overall dress and adding a shirt underneath because the top seems to be a bit baggy up top almost seemingly making room for shape, which my almost 7 yr old definitely does not have yet 😂

Cute dress

Bought for nephew’s daughter. Adorable dress that matches awesome denim jacket. Cute style, love the ruffle at bottom and all the beautiful colors of all over little flowers. Well made. But just 4 stars because top of dress is a little too revealing for a young girl IMO. recommend a tee to wear under or maybe instead buy also adorable matching skirt.
