Laptop is good. HP as a company is not good enough.

The laptop itself is okay. The experience with HP hasn't been great though. They couldn't follow through on their price-match guarantee even several emails went sent. I gave up in the end.

    Great, but......

After moving from an HP Spectre to the HP OmniBook, I’ve realized how much the keyboard affects the overall experience. The Spectre’s keyboard had raised keys and comfortable spacing, making typing effortless. The OmniBook’s keyboard is almost completely flat with very tight spacing, and it lacks the tactile feedback needed for accurate typing. This has led to frequent errors, not because my typing skills have changed, but because the keyboard design simply isn’t as functional. The camera slider is another issue. It occasionally interferes with Windows Hello Face, causing the laptop to fail to recognize me until I adjust it. The OmniBook has many strengths, but these two design decisions make daily use more difficult than it should be.

    Exceptional Build Quality and Performance

I’m extremely happy with my HP Omni 2-in-1 laptop. The build quality is excellent, and it has a sleek, premium design that feels both durable and lightweight. The touchscreen is bright, responsive, and perfect for switching between laptop and tablet modes. Performance has been outstanding. The laptop starts up quickly, handles multiple applications smoothly, and easily keeps up with my daily work, video meetings, web browsing, and entertainment. The keyboard is comfortable for long typing sessions, and the battery life easily lasts through a full workday. One of my favourite features is the flexibility of the 2-in-1 design. Whether I'm working, taking notes, or watching movies, it adapts perfectly to every situation. Overall, this is an excellent laptop that offers great performance, portability, and value for money. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, high-quality 2-in-1 device.

Only computer that met my needs

I was using an older HP 14in laptop computer exclusively for my Tacx indoor smart bicycle trainer; the older computer was slow to startup, and often required hours to download/install Windows updates. I wanted a faster computer with a larger screen. I deliberately chose the OmniBook for the following reasons: i7 processor, 16in screen, and keyboard without the numeric keypad. The laptop works great for its intended purpose (only for my Tacx trainer), and I trust it would work perfectly well for broader applications. Regarding the numeric keypad, I don't understand the point of adding such a keypad to keyboards. It causes the letter keys that get used most often to be off-center, which makes me feel like my arms are always crooked when I'm typing. I much prefer a keyboard without the numeric keypad, which is rare on a 16in laptop computer. Of course, the OmniBook was loaded with the typical amount of worthless bloatware (including OneDrive and the Edge browser) that I had to delete/discard to create a minimalist computer (routine work when getting a new computer). I don't care for the "AI" emphasis, and will likely never use this feature. Overall, this is an excellent computer and I will definitely select the OmniBook again in the future (if it's available) when needing to replace any of my current computers.

    Great computer!

This is a really great computer for people who actually work using theirs- it is fast, has all the ports you need, able to process with exceptional speed. I love the pen included and touch with flip screen. So far---all good! The only complaint is microsoft and their perpetual desire to control-even set up- that is annoying.

Very well made and works well as a laptop or tablet. The only change that would be nice is an anti-reflection display.

    OmniBook X Potential

After being thoroughly confused by what are the differences between all the OmniBook options, I landed on the X. Probably because of the 3k OLED screen, which is stunning. The laptop works well and battery life is good, but I wish it was excellent. I ordered the dark version because I'm tired of the same silver that HP has had for at least a decade now. They really need to start offering color variations. It looks fine but feels like cheap plastic. My previous HP laptop had an island style keypad and this one kind of squeezes all the keys together so I am having to learn not to hit the wrong keys by accident when typing. Hopefully, this is just a learning curve adjustment. Overall, I like the laptop but think that HP can do so much better if they just tried to be an innovative leader focused on quality.

Keyboard Ctrl key is sticking ON.

I have had the computer for about two weeks and the left 'Ctrl' key is sticking. I have had issues with other HP laptop keyboards and this doesn't bode well. Otherwise, it performs as expected.

    Room for improvement

Areas for improvement: * Software. Windows 11 is hot garbage, and the HP software bundled with it isn't any better. "HP AI Companion" is what, exactly? I bought this laptop partly to play with AI, but this isn't any of the models or tools I've heard of. It also wants me to log in before I can do anything else, so I won't be using it. There are also frequent popups from something called "Omen Gaming Hub". I certainly didn't ask for that. I opened it to see what it was and it seems to be an ad platform. Some search results recommend against uninstalling it, so I guess I'm stuck with it. You can at least disable the notifications. * Keyboard layout. While I appreciate the lack of 10-key area, I wish they would have found space for separate home, end, page up and page down keys. The power button should not be a key on the keyboard. Also, full-sized arrow keys would be a plus. * Track pad. I want physical buttons. I don't want to tap with two fingers for right click, I want to click a right button. I don't care if that would make the pad area smaller. I'd accept a trackball if it had physical buttons.

    Support is Very Disappointing

To start with limited support options that don't include email is unacceptable. I bought the HP Care Pack but the support sites wont accept my serial number (even when the ID tool provides it). This is my first HP product and is very quickly turning out to be may last....

    Not Good

This is the first laptop I’ve had such a bad experience with. The keyboard has stopped working multiple times, the face unlock doesn’t work well, and the system has frozen several times. It’s not fast at all. I still have plenty of storage space left, but the laptop is very slow and keeps getting stuck. The keyboard is the biggest problem because it often stops working. Sometimes I can’t even sign in with my PIN because the keyboard doesn’t respond, and the face recognition doesn’t work either. This has been the worst laptop experience I’ve had. Honestly, I’m wondering if this laptop is really new.
