Q: Size Chart shows Extended size 12-14 but there is no option to select size, only color. How do I indicate Extended Size on my order
Also, description indicates 'Cotton Rich' Are they 100% cotton?
submitted by gerry - 8 years ago
A: On the white socks pack this is what is printed.
49% cotton
49% polyester
1% natural latex rubber
1% nylon
submitted bymrpr - 7 years ago
A: The current fabric content is 51% Polyester, 48% Cotton, 1% Spandex. Too much polyester. I will not purchase because of the low cotton content, since cotton absorbs sweat.
submitted byMisterX - 3 years ago
A: This style is offered in size 6-12 only and the fabric content for white is 84% Cotton, 14% Polyester, 1% Rubber, 1% Nylon and for black is 55% Polyester, 41% Cotton, 3% Rubber, 1% Nylon.

A: Some consumers are allergic to nylon. 84% cotton is better then 49%. Why is it so difficult to get the 84% cotton Hanes crew socks in white? SMH! It says in the description that it is 84%!

Q: husband shoe size is 10. should I order larger sock size? 6-12 seems tight.
submitted by Helen - 3 years ago
A: Size 6-12 should fit a shoe size 10. The larger size will be longer in the foot area but about the same as far as diameter around the leg.

Q: When received these why did the package say 65% polyester/ 34% cotton/ 1% spandex?
submitted by Frustrated - 1 year ago
A: The 84% white socks are no longer available. Only in black. Outrageous. Customer service in Plattsburgh,NY is terrible.

A: Thank you for reaching out to us, and we truly appreciate your interest in our products. We understand your question regarding the fabric content listed on the packaging for the Men’s Hanes Red Label 8pk Crew Socks with FreshIQ.
The reason the package states 65% polyester, 34% cotton, and 1% spandex is because those are the materials used in the construction of the socks. This combination provides the desired fit, comfort, and durability for the product.
We hope this information helps, and if you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Q: These socks came up when I put in for diabetic socks. Is that what these socks are for? Thank you.
submitted by Matthew - 5 months ago
A: Hello Matthew! Thank you for your question.
No, the Hanes Red Label 8pk Crew Socks with FreshIQ - Men's, 6‑12 are not specifically diabetic socks. They’re regular everyday crew socks designed for general use.

Q: wHY WW
Why does this website show the socks are: cotton 84%, polyester 14%, natural latex rubber 1%, nylon 1% but the package recieved shows 50% cotton,49% polyester, 1% spandex?
submitted by anonymous - 7 months ago
A: Hello! Thank you for your question.
The reason you saw “cotton ~84%” on the website but “cotton ~50%” on the package is probably due to a change in the sock’s fabric blend over time / mixed stock / different batches or colors. The packaging you received reflects the actual composition — the website listing seems outdated or too generic.

Q: I’m at Target Plattsburgh, NY and these Hanes on sale 25% off are NOT 84% cotton. They are 50% cotton! Why does Target list them at 84% cotton?
submitted by mfgendron - 1 year ago
A: Thank you for your question.
We’re sorry for the confusion regarding the fabric content. While the product may be listed as 84% cotton online, it's possible that Target’s inventory includes a different fabric blend (such as 50% cotton) for certain colors or manufacturing batches. Sometimes retailers receive mixed stock, and descriptions may not reflect all variations accurately.
We recommend checking the fabric content on the actual product tag or packaging, as that will always be the most reliable source.

Q: How do I select a size?
submitted by husbandneedssocks - 4 years ago
A: This style is one size which fits shoe sizes 6-12. There is no size choice.
The recent version of these socks has received mixed feedback from guests, with many expressing disappointment over the fit and quality compared to previous iterations. While some guests appreciate the comfort and softness, others report issues with loose fitting and durability. The inconsistency in cotton content has also raised concerns. Despite these drawbacks, some guests still find value in the price and comfort, making them suitable for casual wear.

Waaaay too tight
Size 6 to 12 is waaay too small for a size 12 foot. If it fits a size 6 foot by the time you get to 12 there is no blood circulation! Sounds like mindless groupthink. A little logic is in order

These are trash. Very short if wearing with boots. Baggy, no compression on foot. Keep looking for a better product.

Bring back the quality 185-6 GRAY SOCKS!!
I have been buying Hanes 185-6 gray socks for at least 15 years, if not longer. Those were the only socks that didn't roll under my toes with a fused ankle, and the gray matched everything. Plus they lasted at least a year! There are no socks on the market now with the same material blend and stitching (except these); however these are complete junk. They don't last like the 185-6 socks and are cheaply made now. The quality is GONE.

Drop in quality
These new socks are not as good as the previous version. They are super loose and slide all around inside my shoes. I have been wearing Hanes socks for 40 years, and this will be the last time I buy them. Just terrible aocks.

Do not waste your money. The Hanes premium socks are solid. These are the worst quality socks ever-- flimsy, sheds black stuff, etc.

Thinner and Itchier Than Before
Target screwed up the listing - the label info says 84% cotton (which is what these used to be), while specifications lists as 50%, which is probably more accurate. My favorite sock style is now thin and itchy, and seems unlikely to last as long as they used to.

Baggy socks?
Listen, I've been buying socks for decades now. I know how socks are supposed to fit. As far as I know my feet haven't shrunk dramatically either, I still wear a size 11. These things literally work their way down my calves and start to bunch up on my feet. They'll literally twist themselves over so that the grey side is on top. It's like my aunt knitted these out of yarn.
