Disappointed from a tteokbokki lover

I looove tteokbokki. I don’t like this. The rice cakes are a bit too gummy. And yes, I know the texture rice cakes should have. I enjoy rice cakes! It is noticeably spicier than the carbonara noodles, which I should’ve known considering it is tteokbokki which is already spicy.

I eat this all the time, and I’ve thankfully never experienced the bad batch a lot of people clearly did! Some advice, though: add something like edamame (my favorite). You have plenty extra sauce for the amount of rice cakes you get, and that also helps with the spiciness.
