Total Garbage
This is garbage. I bought it a year ago, just after the one year warranty expires the evaporator starts freezing up and leaking water all over the place. You can defrost it, clean / blow out the fan and coils, but it keeps happening. You won't be able to even get anyone on the phone at TCL to help support you. It doesn't even deserve one star but you have to provide at least one to submit a review.

Never worked
Didn't work right out of the box. After 30 minutes of having it on, got "E3" error. Unplugged it, would run for another 30 minutes, boom "E3" error. Never collected a single drop of water. Horrible.

Defective. Do Not Buy.
Well designed. Light weight. Reasonably price. But wait, it doesn't work! Three days running in my basement and it could not drop the humidy level more that 5 degrees. Oh, I couldn't get it connected to their app either. Who needs an app for a dehumidifier anyway? Cannot imagine how it could do a 2000 s.f. basement as it claims when it struggled to do my 750 s.f. basement. Oh, and if you buy the extended warranty and need to return it, the store will not refund your warranty. So, you end up owning a warranty on a product you don't own.

Had this for one year and it leaks from the bottom. Beware if you buy this, put a tray underneath this- don’t put it on your carpet. What a disappointment. Only a year and this is going on.

Stopped working
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased 2 of these about 2 years ago. One continues to work well, but the other stopped working after just after 1 year. We do like the functionality of the one that is still working, but not happy with the short lifespan of the other unit.

Two Years Later, Still Working Well
I'm really surprised by the negative reviews. I've had this nearly two years and never had an issue. It does exactly what it needs to do, and worked very well for my 600 sqft apartment. Definitely saved me a ton on electricity by not having to run my A/C on high during the summer. Appreciated the app and that it works with my Google Home devices. During periods of very high humidity, it has to be emptied frequently, which can be a little annoying (especially at night). Also, it's difficult to clean the tank since it's small and uneven. And just noting from other reviews: it blows warm (not hot) air while bringing down the humidity and blows cool air once it hits the % you've set (right before turning off).

Disappointed by Noise and Performance Issues
We really wanted to love the TCL 2000 sq ft Smart Dehumidifier (H25D44W). On paper, it seemed perfect, Energy Star rated, smart features, and ideal for basement or room use. Unfortunately, the reality didn’t match the expectations. Even on the lowest setting, the unit was surprisingly loud, making it difficult to keep running for long periods. It also repeatedly cycled on and off, which was both annoying and concerning. After a short time, it began leaking water, which made it unusable. For the price and brand reputation, I expected much better performance and reliability.

Do not buy!!
I purchased this July 2024. By August 2025 it stopped working completely, it comes on but just blows air and does not collect any water at all. Problem with the air compressor I’m guessing. Piece of garbage if it cannot last longer than a year. Warranty is only available for one year. For the price of this product it is not worth it at all!! Buy at your own risk!

I bought this on 5/1/2025 and it stopped working in August 2025. Informed TCL on 9/12/2025. Customer service duplicated questions in the operating instructions, Had eight communications with no resolution, just repeat of questions. Cannot find out how to have the unit serviced.

Disappointed with TCL
I purchased this unit July 2024 and used for 3 months in 2024 and then when we returned in May of 2025 and wanted to start using the unit again in July 2025 the unit does not work. We tried all of the troubleshooting without any luck. Unfortuantely the 1-year warranty had passed. I purchased a TCL because I have had very good luck with the TCL Roku Tvs. I'm disappointed that I only was able to use this unit for 3 months.
