Tom's of Maine Fluoride-Free Antiplaque & Whitening Toothpaste - 4.5oz/3pk: Vegan, Gluten-Free, Peppermint, Calcium Carbonate

Ugh! New taste. It's very sweet! I switched to Tom’s years ago because of the fresh mint flavor, and no sugary taste. No more! I guess I need to find a new toothpaste?

NOT "Improved Flavor" I've been using Tom's Peppermint for longer than I can remember. i've continued because I LIKE the flavor. This new flavor is too sweet and, as other reviewers have mentioned, tastes chemically. Please, let's return to the long time flavor!

I have been using this toothpaste for almost 20 years. They recently changed the formula and it is now too sweet and artificial tasting. I will be using other brands unless they change the formula back to the old one.

Tom’s reduced their toothpaste tubes from 5.5 ounces to 4.5 ounces and still charges the same amount while advertising “new formula”. Not good practice.

My family has used this toothpaste for a very, very long time. Super disappointed with the addition of stevia to the formulation. After brushing you’re left with a nasty, chemical taste. Looking for a new toothpaste!

New formula is horrific. Sickeningly sweet and fake tasting with a gross slimy texture. I don’t know what they were thinking, but they reuned the best tasting toothpaste on the market.

Used to be a nice light flavor now it tastes like Stevia/fake sugar and the mint lasts in your mouth for way too long. Seems to get worse when you drink water.

Why, oh why did you have to ruin a great-tasting and effective product by changing to this horrendous formula? This now tastes so bad that I don’t want to brush my teeth! The ingredients are also way worse than the original. Good grief! Now, I have to spend time researching and testing other toothpastes. Why can’t these companies just leave well enough alone? So very upset and disappointed.

thought I could get used to this new flavor. the more I use it the worse it got. after 3 days I had enough. cannot return it because it was part of a Target circle with overall grocery cost. it will mess that up. purchased a three pack over $10. I am going to donate two to food shelf and the one I opened I'll throw it out or clean my tennis shoes with it. company was purchased by Palmolive Colgate. if you need a refund call 1-800-367-8667 it is (1-800-FOR-TOMS ) sending me a refund and a coupon for a product to try. best if you have the QR code when you call them if not they are going to send me one anyway supposed to get in 14 days

The "New Great Taste" is terrible. It leaves a disgusting aftertaste that doesn't go away. It seems that Tom's is trying to make the taste sweeter--and that is a mistake. We use Tom's because it does not have the fake sugary taste of the other brands. Now I need to go find an alternative after using Tom's all my life.

I searched long and hard to find a toothpaste that worked that didn’t have fake sugars, Stevia, or other sugar substitutes in it. I finally found this toothpaste, which I love, and was so ecstatic and relieved. I bought myself a new regular size tube, with confidence, because I thought the search for a new toothpaste was finally done. I brushed my teeth for the first time with this new tube and was VERY dismayed! What is that horrible taste?! It tastes like Stevia! I checked the ingredients. There’s no Stevia. However, there are new things on the list of ingredients compared to my last tube, because of the “NEW GREAT TASTE.” With a little further research, I found that this new flavor is enhanced by the rebaudioside A which is a derivative of the Stevia plant. Boo! I cannot use it because it reacts with my fillings and leaves an awful coating and taste in my mouth. So, I am back to square one and now own an expensive tube oftoothpaste that I will probably just end up throwing in the garbage because nobody I know wants it. Why?!? Why did you change your recipe. Go back to the basics, please.

I've been buying this toothpaste for 6+ years and was always happy. The new flavor change is quite terrible. More synthetic, kind of sweet now, less natural peppermint. I really can't stand it and will likely have to switch to a different brand. I hope they will U-turn on this flavor change back to the original as I've always been loyal to Tom's of Maine.

As many of the other reviews have said, I have been using this toothpaste in the peppermint flavor for YEARS - always loved it and recommended it to family and friends. Will not be buying again unless they return to the previous formula. This is absolutely disgusting and had me gagging while brushing my teeth. I also bought a value pack and now have multiple tubes of this awful flavor. Extremely disappointing.

They unfortunately changed their formula for the peppermint flavor and it is unbearably terrible. It literally made me gag when I brushed my teeth with it and the taste lingered in my mouth for way too long

Why would you mess with a good thing?? The new flavor is horrible and the toothpaste is too watery. This is the only toothpaste I’ve used for years, and now I have to look for a replacement. Please just change it back!

The best toothpaste I have ever used. Clean ingrediants and powerful cleaning results. Very fresh, no need for mouthwash.

I didn't even realize it was a new formula. I didn't look at the packaging. But when I opened the tube and applied some to my tooth brush OMG it was horrid. Then the taste was gross! Why do companies change things and think its for the better. This was so nasty. Unfortunately... I dont like to start and not finish so 😮‍💨

I’ve been using this toothpaste for forever. It’s been the best toothpaste for years. Now the new flavor is AWFUL. It actually made me gag at the flavor the entire new tube 😭 I usually buy two at a time. Thankfully I didn’t with this one. I had to change toothpaste brands. Hopefully they go back to the original soon!

I have been a Tom’s user for decades and the new formula has me searching for anew brand. The flavor is very bad and has a chemical taste. First it was the shrinking ounces in toothpaste for the same price and now this! I’m done.

This was the only toothpaste I could use- I have used it for years faithfully, this new formula is so horrible, leaves a medicine like bitter aftertaste that lingers. I am so disappointed, I bought a two pack and will be tossing them. Why mess up a great product?
