Q: What is the source of the vegetable glycerin (palm,soy or coconut)? Also what is the actual bottle made of- is it safe, bpa free etc.? Lastly I see fragrance- what does that intel? We have a few allergies over here.

Our laundry soap bottles are made with 25% post-consumer recycled plastic and can be recycled again after use. Frankincense & Myrrh products are scented with a proprietary blend essential oils and paraben-free, phthalate-free fragrance oil and is Safer Choice Certified through the EPA. If you’re looking for laundry soap that is scented with essential oils only, check out our Sea Salt, Lavender, and Sweet Orange blends.

Q: I see Zum uses essential oils and fragrance. Does that mean the “fragrance” part is artificial fragrances? That would mean it contains more than 5 ingredients as fragrance can be any number of artificial and harmful ingredients.

  • A: It is standard across the industry for the term “fragrance” is to appear as a single ingredient on labels, even when it represents a full blend of essential oils, natural aromatics, and/or other fragrance components. At Zum, we list “fragrance” in addition to essential oils to specifically to be transparent what is used in this specific blend to create the aroma. The blend itself, however, is still considered one ingredient for labeling purposes. We take scent seriously, if you’re looking to stick purely with essential oils you might enjoy our Lavender or Sea Salt blend instead.

    Inconsistent & Stains

    The first bottle of this smelled AMAZING. My entire apartment was filled with a beautiful frankincense and myrrh scent. I did notice it left a tint on light fabrics, so I only used it on dark clothing and only occasionally on light sheets and towels because I loved the fragrance so much. Unfortunately, my second bottle was completely different. The scent is much weaker compared to the first one. I also used it on a load of black sweats and hoodies, and afterward some of my dark clothes looked faded. I can’t say for certain this product caused it, but it’s possible. I also again noticed a slight brown tint on my light-colored sheets and towels. I’m honestly sad because the original scent was incredible and filled the entire room. I hope they improve the formula because this has amazing potential.

    Lost laundry detergent due to loose cap

    When item was received the cap was not on tight , therefore product was leaked inside packaging bag and all over the outside of the actual detergent bottle. Due to the loss of product the bottle was not a full bottle. I just wanted to share this information. First time trying this detergent. I have not used it yet just delivered a few hours ago

    Needs quality control

    Really love this detergent but, lately have been receiving lighter color bottles that do not match original product. I don’t know if they have changed the product but, seems diluted and does not have strong scent like the darker color. Disappointing and will have to find another clean brand that doesn’t dilute their bottles.
