Easy to use, Makes great coffee
This product is easy to use and makes great coffee. It seems to be constructed well. I have had it for about a month and a half, and it has been very reliable so far. It is very easy to adjust the various settings to your preferences.

Great espresso machine for home use
This is a lovely little espresso machine. We have one that is several years old and still works great, bought a second one recently as a gift for a friend. It takes a bit of time to learn how to use it and get the settings right (YouTube videos are very helpful) but once set up it’s easy to make espresso drinks that taste amazingly good. Cleanup is a bit tedious but not too bad, especially when you make more than one cup at a time.

Never order for delivery
Target used a third-party delivery service for my order, and my $600 item was never delivered. The driver marked it as delivered and uploaded a photo, but nothing was actually at my address. To make things worse, it was shipped in a Breville espresso machine box, clearly showing what was inside—basically inviting theft. That’s a huge oversight. Between the careless packaging and unreliable third-party delivery, this was a frustrating experience. For a $600 item, I expected a lot better accountability and handling.

Gave as gift and espresso machine was nonfunctional
I gave this as a graduation gift and it didn’t work. It is pretty embarrassing to give a gift and the recipient has to ask for the receipt because the product was a piece of garbage.

Good machine, but not the same as my first Barist express.
This is my second Barista Express. The first one lasted 14 years. Then it started having problems with the timer pulling shots. Bought the new Barista Express, the pressure gauge does not work the same and the steam knob and hot water knob is very hard to turn. Other than that it still a good machine.

If you know coffee, do not buy.
Honestly I’m writing this as a pro barista who has worked only in the coffee industry; do not waste your money on this product. I was so excited to buy it because I read so many good reviews (I had to remind myself these were most likely good reviews from people who don’t know coffee). I bit the bullet and literally returned it because I could not dial in, and it literally takes SO long to steam/pull a good shot. It’s good if you’ve never worked in coffee but if you’re trying to fully learn or experience good coffee I’d say bite the bullet and pay for a commercial grade home machine.

This has been one of the most satisfying purchases I’ve ever made. We love drinking coffee, and to truly savor whole-bean coffee from the high mountains of my country, there is nothing better than a Breville machine. I love it!

We love our barista express! It looks stunning on the counter and produces high quality, very strong espresso. It does take a while to figure out, but after plenty of research and troubleshooting we were able to perfect it.

Slightly disappointed
The espresso machine works well but I am disappointed with the materials it is made from. I chose the one described as black stainless steel rather then the plain old stainless steel. Low and behold its not black stainless steel but plastic. I kept it am I am kinda sorry I did. Would of rather had the stainless steel.

Great coffee machine, difficult to cancel subscription
I bought an espresso machine for my friends and it came with coffee beans. Little did I know it's a subscription that I cannot cancel.

Great machine when it works
I’ve had this machine for 18 months and had issues along the way from having the steam wand stop working to now the grinder now longer works. I was able to get the past issues fixed but the grinder is not working. I have trouble shot everything I could to no avail. We upgraded to this model due to having a grinder, now I wish we would have just stayed with the previous machine.
